The BackShave is a back shaving device, best used to maintain a cleanly shaven back.  For best results, use it every few days to keep growth minimal.  

Background - Back shaving is a laborious task, often taking 20 minutes to an hour.  Embarrassing to ask a partner or friend to help, and super hard to do by yourself.  The best devices up until now have been barbaric handles with big blades or electric razors on the end.   These don't shave very close, and are very hard to do because you have to look in the mirror so much to try to see what you are doing. Consequently, men generally only use them a few times a year before a vacation or day at the lake or pool.  

Now there is The BackShave.  This is a whole new take on back shaving.  The BackShave uses high tech razor cartridges designed for course hair on a sensitive face to get a close shave. These cartridges have evolved over the years to provide incredibly close shaves and to be very forgiving to the skin.  We are not smart enough to improve on this billion dollar industry. Instead, we adapted these high quality cartridges for use on the back.

The BackShave is unique because we have designed a way to run these super sophisticated razors across the back.  The BackShave keeps them at the perfect height, the perfect angle, and keeps them tracking straight across your back.  The chassis design, and basically a built-in suspension, allows The BackShave to follow the undulations and depressions on your back to provide a clean shave everywhere. 

The BackShave is moved side to side, and up and down on the back using the ropes and handles attached to it. Think of the movement as what you'd use with a towel to dry off your back. It will shave in both directions, so each time you pull it, make sure it is flat against your back and shaving.  This only requires a little bit of pressure.  The grab handle on top of The BackShave doubles as a roll-over device, so it will naturally lay on your back with the blades down.  The razors will naturally clean themselves of hair when they are run in reverse with every stroke.

Every back is different.  Hair grows out in different places, different thickness, and in a different direction.  So you will need to figure out a pattern that works best on your back.  When first using The BackShave we recommend that you try some different motions on your back for 3 or 4 minutes, just do your best.  After your shower, look in the mirror to see what you missed.   The next time you take a shower figure out a pattern for the areas you missed.  You may need to do this routine 4 or 5 times until you find the pattern that works best for your back.  But once you figure it out, it should not take more than a minute to perfectly shave your back.
